Smartdept. inc is on the search for a data-driven expert to join an up and coming B2B digital marketing agency in Seattle, Wa. As a Data Analyst, you will play an important role in discovering, analyzing and presenting insights related to consumer behaviors and perception, across website and digital advertising channels. You will work with key stakeholders to analyze and interpret both program and individual campaign performance data, to help the team make informed, data-driven decisions. This includes driving strategic thinking and being the source of vital insights for brand planning, digital marketing and supporting standard internal data needs for clients and new business while creating stories from data.

 

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

 

  • Structure analytical problems, extract and analyze data, and present findings to clients
  • Build out a best-in-class, multi-touch marketing attribution model, mining large data sets and using sophisticated analytical techniques to generate insights and inform business decisions
  • Develop sophisticated targeting and segmentation strategies within client provided customer database
  • Use data insights to drive strategic business and marketing recommendations with clients
  • Demonstrate problem-solving ability with emphasis on drawing insights from data
  • Understand the conversion rate optimization path and the indicators of it
  • Ability to work within a team to leverage program and campaign performance data to identify optimal lead touchpoints and help optimize the customer journey
  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to connect Social, Paid Media and Web Analytics Monitoring tools to gain integrated online marketing insights
  • Build dashboards and reporting processes to monitor key trends
  • Recommend, prepare, monitor and evaluate key conversion metrics and KPI dashboards by analyzing patterns, usage and trends
  • Show exemplary communication and presentation skills with strong business acumen to understand strategy, interact with clients and present actionable findings
  • Influence decision-making based on information gained from deep-dive and ad hoc analysis
  • Identify new reporting needs and support the creation of complex and actionable management reports and analytical tools
  • Provide thought leadership around data, analytics, and digital strategy

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4 year degree from accredited university in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or other quantitative fields
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Analytical and decisive
  • Business-savvy and team-oriented
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in Web Analytics, Social Insights, Business Intelligence, Marketing analytics or other highly-quantitative fields
  • Experience with attribution analysis and modeling
  • SQL expertise - able to write structured and efficient queries on large datasets
  • Personal interest in, and strong understanding of, consumer-generated content platforms (blogs, forums, communities) and social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Experience leading qualitative & quantitative research from proposal to presentation
  • Understanding of digital marketing concepts and strategies
  • Proficiency with building data visualizations and interactive dashboards
  • Experience effectively managing projects that support multiple clients and stakeholders
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and demonstrated experience in analysis, research, and presentation creation
  • Experience with web analytics platform(s) (Webtrends, Omniture, Google Analytics, SimilarWeb, etc.)

Understanding of data visualization and BI Platforms, such as PowerBI, Tableau, Datorama, Origami Logic, MicroStrategy is a plus

Full Time Hours. 1-3 days/wk with clients on-site at Redmond Microsoft Campus. Remote remaining hours of the week. Starting Immediately.
