The smartdept.inc. is in search of a HR Manager with a strong emphasis in Recruiting for our client located in Seattle, Wa. This is a Direct Placement opportunity working with a modern b2b marketing agency. As the HR Manager and Lead Recruiter, you will be the premiere in house HR professional in a quickly growing and fast paced company! This role is responsible for developing company policy in addition to directing and coordinating human resources activities, such as recruiting and employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
  • Screen resumes
  • Perform in-person and phone interviews with prospective candidates
  • Administer appropriate company assessments
  • Perform reference checks
  • Make recommendations to company hiring managers
  • Coordinate interviews with the hiring managers
  • Follow up on the interview process status
  • Communicate Knack’s values, culture, and benefits during the screening process
  • Stay current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Complete timely reports on employment activity
  • Conduct exit interviews on terminating employees
  • Project core values into the culture of our work place
  • Ability to present and recommend new tools, policies, and processes as they align with Knack’s values

What You Need:

  • BS/BA degree is required. MBA or MA in HR-related field, is preferred
  • 5-8+ years of HR Operations experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Experience in sourcing and recruiting new talent, preferably in a marketing agency setting
  • Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • Experience and understanding of different HR Management tools
  • Proven track record of growing and developing teams
  • Experience in a start up setting is a plus
  • High energy and intellectually curious individual with a desire to work in a result oriented, dynamic, rapid growth environment
  • Independent thinker with ability to move a project forward, draw key insights, and plan next steps
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
