The smartdept. inc,  is seeking a contract Marketing Project Manager for a 6 month project in Riverwoods, Ill to execute E-Commerce strategies to deliver a product roadmap, operations and best-in-class customer experience related to merchant partnerships. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with a cross-functional team to help deliver a large-scale project and measure the success of the initiative.



• Independently executes roadmap to optimize customer experience

• Transforms business requirements into user stories in order to implement initiatives

• Works hand-in-hand with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Technology, Payments Services, Customer Service, Analytics and Digital teams

• Effectively manages external vendor relationships

• Develops, monitors and communicates clear and measurable program KPIs • Manages issues and develops risk mitigation plans


Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

• 3+ years of professional work experience

• Proven experience leading large projects, ensuring all key milestones are met

• Independent, proactive, creative thinker with a passion for user experience

• Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with many areas of the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Superior problem-solving and analytical skills

• Flexibility to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Rally, SharePoint and/or similar software


Desired Skills

• Lean, Six Sigma and/or demonstrated process improvement expertise

• Strong knowledge of the credit card landscape and business operating model


Additional Information:

  • More of a digital marketing PM, not PMP certification work
  • Working to support the digital experience for the online shopping portal:  making sure the experience and the product are what the customer expects
  • Helps with tech changes, getting internal stakeholders to buy in to changes based on customer feedback, working with with internal cross-functional teams and B2B stakeholders, so both internal and external facing
  • Rally or Sharepoint experience helpful, MS knowledge needed
  • UX exposure is nice to have but not needed
  • Communication skills critical
  • Flexibility/roll with it attitude
