smartdept. inc. is searching for a Learning & Development Specialist for a law office in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 3+ years of experience creating, implementing and facilitating learning and development programs. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

 

What You’ll Do:

The L&D Specialist’s core responsibilities are to create, implement, and facilitate firmwide learning programs that support the professional development of our lawyers and staff members and to support the Firm’s use of behavioral assessments, such as Predictive Index® (PI), as staff recruiting, talent assessment, team dynamic, and leadership development tools. The Specialist will work under the guidance of the Learning & Development Specialist Lead and collaborate with the Learning & Development Design Specialist, Director of Learning & Organizational Development, and other members of the wider Learning & Development team.

  • Complete internal certification and facilitate existing firm programs related to culture, communication, interviewing, and team dynamics
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and the Learning & Development Design Specialist to assess needs and design, develop and implement new programs and curricula to meet those needs
  • Use behavioral assessments to create experiential learning programs for intact teams to enhance team communication, collaboration, and cohesion
  • Facilitate existing behavioral assessment programs, including Introduction to Predictive Index (PI) and Recruiting with PI, in various settings
  • Collaborate and consult with key business partners to identify and provide appropriate learning and development resources
  • Identify opportunities to integrate behavioral assessment concepts into other core curricula
  • Consult with managers on the use of behavioral assessments as an ongoing development and team dynamics tool
  • Work with stakeholders to support talent processes related to recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and stakeholders to create job profiles for each open position
  • Use assessment tools and data to create behavioral interview questions for hiring managers
  • Provide guidance on, and assistance with, existing processes and procedures that leverage PI
  • Assist stakeholders in evaluating behavioral assessment results to design optimal onboarding processes for new hires
  • Stay current with Predictive Index® (PI) and other behavioral assessment systems, tools, and trends
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience creating, implementing, and facilitating learning and development programs
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience consulting with internal and/or external clients
  • Experience using behavioral assessment tools (e.g., Predictive Index® or DiSC)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Behavioral assessment certification preferred
  • Experience with HRIS, such as PeopleSoft preferred
  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Cornerstone) preferred
