Sr. Content Designer

smartdept.inc. is searching for a Sr. Content Designer for a company located in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will come with at least 5+ years of experience in Content Design. This is a fully remote, contract opportunity that is expected to last 6 months with the possibility of extension.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with a world-class team of Product Designers, Content Designers, UX Design – Researchers, Product Managers & Engineers
- Produce high-quality scenario-based content to help customers understand complex topics
- Work with raw content from subject matter experts and architects, then model and format content into viable, feasible and desired solutions
- Write, curatee, and edit content for accuracy, clarity and usability
- Offer a content strategy perspective throughout the product development process, and influence strategic decisions across and within products to improve the overall experience and ensure consistency across platforms
- Leverage personas, journey maps and site data to develop content that targets user needs and supports business goals.
- Communicate your findings, recommendation, and content specifications through deliverables such as content matrices, user scenarios, presentation decks, comps, prototypes, and style guides
- Develop feature content and communication strategies as concepts become prototypes and beyond
- Simplifying complex health, wealth, career and wellbeing content users
- Ability to collaborate and run Content Design workshops and Sprints
- Help support a shared design vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product design and execution
What You’ll Need:
- Live and breathe to design the future and have an award-winning portfolio (product, websites, apps, etc) to prove it
- Experience with or background in writing
- Advanced Content design skills
- Fluency in best practices for information architecture, content strategy, design thinking
- Expertise in research tools (e.g., Optimal Workshop, survey tooling, Usertesting.com, etc)
- Experience in design tools Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Miro/Mural, Invision
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Miro/Mural, Invision
- 5+ years of experience in Content Designer or Copywriting roles at Design or Digital Agencies, Startups or Fortune 500 companies
- 5+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering/dev, design, and user research teams
