Junior Project Manager

smartdept. inc. is searching for a Project Manager for an advertising agency in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will come with 1-2 years of experience. This is a contract position expected to last 2 months and will be on-site.

What You’ll Do:

• Create and maintain production schedules in Workamajig for creative team, in coordination with the
  relationship team
• Demonstrate the ability to read a situation and react appropriately to solve problems and issues
• Reviews daily work schedule with relationship manager, creative team, production artists, and interactive/web
  development staff
• Effectively delegate to direct reports while ensuring quality work and ultimate responsibility of all projects and tasks
• Develop job procedures to standardize project operations and implement timelines to eliminate work overload
• Build strong relationships internally and externally to guarantee the success of the client’s projects
• Perform general project administration, i.e., report generation, order processing, daily KPIs, and end-of-month billing with reports
• Assists relationship team, creative principal, and creative team in coordinating schedules of collateral materials to arrive before final deadlines

What You’ll Need:

• 1-2 or more years of experience working as a Project Manager
• Strong Account Management skills; Experience working closely with clients and outside vendors
• Strong ability to quickly learn and function within various proprietary software applications 
• Comfortable with cloud-based management software
• Leadership skills and strategic focus
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to multi-task, handle stressful situations and deadline pressures
• Working knowledge of Adobe CC and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
