Korean Translator
smartdept. is in search of a Korean Language Editor for a beauty client located in Michigan. This is a fully remote contract position that will average about 20 hours a week for the duration of 1 year. The ideal candidate will be able to work anywhere in the US as long as they are available 8 am-5 pm EST.
What You'll Do:
The Korean Translator reports to the Manager of Localization in Marketing. Responsible for translating, editing and proofreading (in native/first language) for translations that accurately reflect the messaging for core communications including print, presentation, video, web content, mobile applications, and additional multimedia communications. They will develop written translation content for all forms of media, assuring the end result meets the strategy for marketing and sales goals. Be responsible for tone/voice and intent of communication translations. Assures copy adheres to proper spelling, grammar, and applicable style and brand guides. Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of in-language style guides and terminology glossaries. Build cross-functional collaborative working relations with multiple teams and divisions within the organization. Assures quality through consistent proofreading. Provides direction to external translation services and resources
Proofreading and editing translated materials for corporate communications.
Cross functional experience within the Sales and Marketing disciplines.
Strong communication skills and abilities to interact successfully with internal and external clients.
BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field.
6+ years overall translation, copywriting and proofreading experience3+ years experience within an agency environment.
Familiarity with slang, idiomatic phrasing, and regional nuances within the language.
Experience with SDL WorldServer, Trados Studio and Web CMS systems.
