smartdept. inc. is searching for a Marketing Manager for a client in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will come with 7+ years of experience. This is a fully remote, direct-hire opportunity. The annual compensation for this position is $144,000 with a bonus of 10%-15%.

What You’ll Do:
Primarily responsible for leading and developing a team of analysts who provide data-driven marketing campaign insights to our partners across the business. Responsible for execution of strategy set by the Director and Sr. Manager. Has additional responsibility for leading projects across the business

  • Review and Evaluate - The responsibility of the individual is to understand how to find/extract the needed data (Design), structure the output (Create), understand what it means and implies (Evaluate), turn the data into information (Optimize) and provide the results/recommendations (Deliver) directly to internal partners (Client Partnerships, Marketing, Operations) and 3rd Parties (Brand Partners, Vendors) to directly impact business decisions. Additionally, sound problem formulation and a proactive approach to addressing analysis is required.
  • Relationship Management - Act as primary Marketing Performance Analytics contact/resource for the GM team and Marketing COE partners for a specific set of Brand Partners. Responsible for a large number of Brand Partners and/or Medium-High size/complexity of Brand Partner. Regularly relied upon by the organization, and our brand partners, to consult and provide expert advice leading to decisions and/or recommendations in relation to marketing campaign offerings, value propositions, and potential partnerships. Effectively researches and resolves ad-hoc requests in relation to current and potential understanding of prior campaign results.
  • Coaching and development: Manage and coach the team to ensure delivery excellence, sustainability and scalability. This team assists the organization by providing data-driven insights towards customer attributes and behavior; with the goal of proactively arming our internal and brand partners with a better understanding of their end custom, enabling enduring loyalty.
  • Create and Design: Design, create, evaluate, optimize, and deliver quantitative and qualitative offerings in relation to marketing campaigns. (Including, but not limited to, custom demographic, geographic, financial, and lifestyle profiles; transactional, shopping and interaction activities; behavior hypothesis testing, data mining, and customized reporting/analysis.) Participate in strategic projects to identify enhancements to processes and offerings that will have a positive impact on the client's ability to deliver relevant marketing and create enduring loyalty (focus on the end-customer and brand partner).

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Finance, or similar 
  • 7 or more years of experience, with 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Ideally looking for a candidate whose focus/type of work experience resides in leading people, analyzing marketing performance, driving marketing and business decisions through data extracts, queries, and actionable insights. 
  • Experience with Data Mining Tools (SQL, SAS), APT Test & Learn, Customer Behavioral Research, and Business Analysis
  • Database query language (SQL, Python, R, etc.)
  • Retail/Banking knowledge
