smartdept. inc. is searching for a Product Marketing Specialist for a tech-forward financial services client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will come with 3-5+ years of experience. This is a fully remote, direct hire opportunity. 

 

What You’ll Do:

This role will partner with the client's Pay Product & Marketing teams to create go-to-market strategies for new product and feature launches and own product-market positioning and messaging. The role will require you to be highly collaborative and work across departments including marketing, product, sales, analytics, and merchant success. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in influencing product roadmaps and crafting messaging to improve the effectiveness of marketing and sales efforts.

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to bring new features and products to market
  • In partnership with the client's Head of Pay Marketing & Product, develop clear and concise product positioning, messaging, and value prop to be used across multiple marketing and sales touchpoints
  • Become the voice of the market through research and qualitative feedback to understand how retailers evaluate and adopt products and services throughout their customer lifecycle
  • Become knowledgeable on our competitive landscape to assist in market segmentation and opportunity sizing, and be responsible for identifying areas of opportunities and investment
  • Partner with the client's Pay Marketing Managers on multi-channel go-to-market (GTM) strategies and campaign messaging for new Pay features, products, and services
  • Build compelling content to serve both internal teams and external markets
  • Establish proper key performance indicators (KPIs) to track adoption and awareness of new Bread products and features and develop a plan to drive adoption and usage continually
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment across product, engineering, sales, marketing, and merchant success teams

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related degree
  • 3+ years of product marketing experience in a business-to-business (B2B) startup, fintech, or SaaS environment
  • Experience in crafting messaging and positioning for business-to-business (B2B) audiences to effectively differentiate the product
  • Track record of crafting and executing go-to-market plans from ideation to launch to drive new product or feature adoption
  • Powerful storyteller: written, verbal, and visual
  • Strong analytical background with a proven history of using data to drive decisions
  • Proven ability to influence and lead projects across cross-functional teams
  • Previous experience in either the retail, e-commerce, or fintech space is a plus
