smartdept. inc. is searching for a Marketing Manager for a client in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will come with 7+ years of experience. This is a fully remote, 3-month contract opportunity that transitions into a permanent position. This position has an annual salary of $135,000/yr (with flexibility) depending on experience.

What You’ll Do:
The Marketing Analytics Team supports the organization by providing data-driven insights and quantitative strategies that elevate Marketing execution and delivery. The Marketing Analytics Manager is accountable for assisting in the development of these strategies and executing the accompanying analytical agenda. This individual will directly engage the Marketing organization in providing strategically actionable insights while developing analytical and computational products that enhance acquisition, sales and brand marketing performance. This position works with leaders within the Marketing organization while collaborating with Enterprise Data Science and Analytics counterparts.

  • Marketing support: Provides reporting, analysis, strategic insights and recommendations that improve Marketing performance. Develops and maintains analytic tools that aid in identifying actionable opportunities and generating insights. Works with leaders to develop an evolving series of analytical inquiries that, by answering, will inform and guide Marketing actions.
  • Leadership and Consultation: Aligns people, technology, and decisions across teams. Is relied upon by the Marketing organization and internal partners to provide consultative support for marketing campaigns and initiatives. Creates compelling messages that drive action.
  • Relationship Management: Builds strong and trusted relationships with marketing leadership while proactively serving the analytical needs of the organization. Acts as a key Marketing Analytics contact for internal business partners. Establishes effective communication across marketing functions, coordinates with partners and stakeholders.
  • Coaching and development: Manages and develops a team of strong analytic professionals who leverage rigorous quantitative methods and sustainable analytical tools that drive action and create value within the organization. The manager is expected to challenge and improve the methods and thinking of their team as well as themselves.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Finance, or similar 
  • 7 or more years of work experience, with 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Ideally looking for a candidate whose focus/type of work experience resides in leading a marketing analytics function with a focus on performance optimization
  • Broad experience leading a Marketing Analytics function with a focus on performance optimization.
  • Experience developing performance reporting solutions
  • Proficiency with data access and analysis tools 
  • Demonstrable experience translating data analysis into business action
  • Strong knowledge of the credit, retail, and/or financial services industries
