Visual Designer

smartdept.inc. is searching for a Visual Designer for a client based in Ada, MI. This is a full-time, 6-month contract opportunity. This position is 90% remote, where the candidate can work remotely but must be available to come on-site once a month in Ada, MI. The pay for this position is expected to be $35.71-$42.86/hour.

What You’ll Do: 

• Designing according to the strategy and vision for various projects, as well as executing deliverables including visual design concepts, sketches, and prototyping
• Contributing concepts and executing creative design solutions, paying attention to the look, feel, and tonality of the design.
• Conceptualizing communication concepts for internal audiences.
• Ensure all deliverables are of the highest quality, including the management of visual QA and hand-offs to development & delivery teams.
• Actively gaining knowledge of industry standards and digital design trends.
• Work with teams to create assets for use in experiences (Mobile first)
• Enforce and innovate the brand design system across projects and portfolios

What You’ll Need: 

• Developing expertise in one of the following areas: product strategy, illustration, digital prototyping, product knowledge, design thinking, user research, motion graphics design, 3D design, or space design.
• Organization ability, able to act independently, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a dynamic environment
• Understanding of Human Centered Design and Agile principles
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize projects
• Proficient with Figma
