Content Writer

smartdept. inc. is searching for a Content Writer for an electronics manufacturer in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 3-5 years of experience developing content for technical audiences. This is a fully remote, contract opportunity expected to last 3 months. The expected compensation for this role is expected to be $30-$35/hour. 

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure consistent style and terminology are used across datasheets and the website to help
  improve user experience
• Assess existing information architecture and identify areas for improvement, including content
  inventories and audits
• Actively participate in content strategy discussions
• Apply consistent formatting for series and part naming, series and part descriptions, features and
  benefits, and applications.
• Actively participate in organization-wide content governance processes with standards and
  guidelines for different contexts
• Create meta keywords and descriptions for series and parts

What You’ll Need:

• 3-5 years of experience in developing content for a technical audience
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to distill
  information, influence outcomes, and communicate using brief, simple language
• A process-oriented approach to content governance and content creation in phases including
  goal setting, research, planning, writing, quality assurance, publishing, evaluation, optimization,
  and lifecycle management
• Strong understanding of UX / UI design for collaboration with the design team to achieve excellent
  presentation standards
• High attention to detail
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple lines of business
• Must be a self-starter and excel in multi-tasking within a fast-paced organization
• Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
