Digital Content Writer

smartdept. inc. is searching for a Content Writer for a business process outsourcing client of ours located in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience writing and editing content on HR and benefits-related topics. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract opportunity that is anticipated to extend and eventually convert into a permanent position with the client. The pay for this position is expected to be $60-$68/hour.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Curate, edit, and develop content for digital applications (email, web, mobile) as well as supporting online content (articles, informational charts) that engages and influences user behavior and helps clients achieve desired business outcomes
  • Participate in internal team meetings and strategic design sprints with product domains
  • Stay abreast of market trends and work with Content Lead and data teams to identify content optimization opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of the AI-driven product and best practices for development
  • Work with designers to source content imagery and collaborate with tech engineers to write content compatible with delivery platforms

 

What You'll Need:

  • Experience writing and editing creative, educational and technical content on HR and benefits-related topics: Healthcare, wellness, retirement, total rewards, benefit plan changes, pay and incentive programs, recruiting
  • Minimum 5 years of content development/digital marketing experience
  • Benefits-related work experience is considered a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a similar discipline
  • Strong organization skills—the ability to manage time and priorities, clearly and accurately label and organize drafts on shared site
  • Complete tasks and maintain composure under tight deadlines
  • Exhibit creative thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a mature, professional, and positive demeanor
  • Desire to learn and display the client's values, including thinking forward, acting now, and delivering with excellence
  • Natural curiosity and eagerness to learn new things
  • Resourcefulness and ability to adapt to changing priorities and scope; comfortable working amidst ambiguity
  • Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • The ability to edit PDFs is a plus
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally
