Contract - Hybrid / Full time
smartdept.inc. is searching for a UX Designer for a credit card and banking institution client of ours located in Riverwoods, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 3+ years of experience in UX design for business applications. This is a full-time, hybrid contract opportunity in Riverwoods or downtown Chicago, IL. The contract duration is 3 months with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to an FTE. Pay for this position is expected to be $56-$63/hr depending on experience level and fit.
What You'll Do:
Manage the creative outcome of the client's Home Loans digital UX/UI and marketing communications by applying innovative thinking, ideation, leadership, concept development, and functional expertise in art direction and design — with the skill to also evaluate and edit copy. Leads the pursuit of fresh, conceptually strong creative that generates new customers, sells products/services, and enhances a unified customer experience across all media.
Responsibilities Include:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for UX/UI design on behalf of the home loans business line, evolving existing front-end systems using innovative design thinking that puts customer experience and mobile interfaces first, and participating in enterprise-wide design forums.
- Conceive, develop, refine, and execute on-strategy, on-time, high-stopping power creative that delivers on the Creative Brief and Business Partner objectives/key performance indicators. Be an advocate of the client's Brand Standards and review all work with a critical eye, ensuring the team’s work has one brand and one voice across all media (print, digital, video, radio, social/content).
- Foster relationships with multiple Business Partners to present and sell work, and also recommend solutions to further the effectiveness of the team’s partnerships.
- Exhibit the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects under tight deadlines, meeting all time and quality objectives while complying with company/department requirements, policies, and processes.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, UX, or a related discipline
- 3-5+ years of experience in UX design for business applications
- A competitive portfolio website
- Expertise using the full Adobe Creative Suite as well as MS Office products Word and PowerPoint
- Expert-level fluency in Figma
- Motion graphics experience (preferred)
- Work experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry (preferred)
