Sustainability Project Specialist

smartdept.inc. is searching for a Sustainability Project Specialist for a Michigan-based health care organization located in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will come with at least 2 years of experience with applicable business functions and project management. This is a fully remote 6-month contract opportunity starting in October and is planned to go until April 9th, 2022. Onsite required some of the time, candidates must be local to Grand Rapids, MI.

What You’ll Do: 

• Oversees medium-sized, multi-faceted projects varying in complexity and involving cross-functional experts. These projects may be a portion or phase of a larger project or program.
• Projects assigned consist of integrations, new tools, services, platforms, programs, and approaches in support of the applicable business units.
• Follows the company's Project Management methodology and quality standards. Acts as a change agent to advance the knowledge and use of project management and the company's project management methodology and toolset.
• Responsible for all aspects of assigned tasks over the entire project life cycle.
• Develops project plans and schedules coordinates project work, and completes projects on time and within budget.
• Analyzes and documents, processes, procedures, and outcomes to seek continuous improvement.
• Assesses resource requirements for project tasks and works with leaders of functional areas and subject matter experts to meet project plan deliverables.
• Organizes and works with appropriate department leaders to plan and schedule the coordination of people and tasks as needed to accomplish project objectives.
• Serves as a liaison for projects between various departments within the company.
• Communicates, collaborates, networks and acts as a consultant to stakeholders/business partners in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services and appropriate utilization of resources.

 What You’ll Need: 

• Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant experience of applicable business function experience or other related experience
• 2 years of relevant experience of related experience, preferably in project management 
• CRT-Project Management Professional, Associate (CAPM) certification preferred Or
• CRT-Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI Project Management Institute certification preferred
