Job Description

smartdept is in search of a Digital Marketing Manager to manage our consumer packaged goods client's social media platforms. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will come with at least 3 years of experience managing social content and community engagement for multiple product brands. This position will be on-site at their Chicago office. Candidates must be local to Chicago or the surrounding suburbs and willing to work on-site 3 days a week.
 
What You'll Do:
 

The Associate Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for executing social media and website strategy, planning, and activation with a focus on driving brand awareness, loyalty, web traffic, and revenue. Reporting to our Director of Creative Services, the Digital Marketing Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for social and web marketing for all brands. This position will research industry trends, create new marketing campaigns, grow the community, build brand recognition, work with web analytics tools to track campaign progress, and manage third-party resources.

 

  • Develop and manage digital programs, including but not limited to digital and social advertising, search marketing (SEO/SEM), email communications, and website development
  • Lead the annual planning process for social media and website to drive revenue, engagement, and organizational initiatives to develop and maintain the social media calendar, ensuring a mix of creative content and well-written posts appropriate to each brand’s unique voice.
  • Paid social media- Manage third party relationships to drive web sessions and revenue at efficient ROIs leveraging appropriate targeting criteria and creative assets
  • Organic - Drive awareness and loyalty to the brand through effective content strategies. Target and engage with the appropriate audience to build community and encourage engagement.
  • SEO/SEM – plan, develop and implement SEO strategy working toward search optimization and ROI maximization.  Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs
  • Utilizing WordPress and WIX knowledge, update and enhance website for maximum revenue growth
  • Lead evaluation and provide recommendations on social media platforms to activate, grow and disengage.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report results along with optimization recommendations for improved performance. Maintain a performance-based approach, using analytics tools for success measurement. 
  • Communicate the digital vision to the design team for asset creation.  
  • Constantly monitor social trends and competitors, identifying areas of opportunity within the social space
  • Research and develop relationships with influencers and/or other partners in the marketplace
  • Focus on the growth of the social media audience by regularly introducing different distribution tactics.
  • Management of 3rd party contractors/resources
 
What You'll Need
 
  • BS or BA in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of paid and organic social media marketing and website experience.
  • Environmentally conscious values and can then easily speak to the eco-conscious community. 
  • Copywriting experience
  • Deep knowledge of Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook for Business, WordPress, WIX, WooCommerce
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, SEM, and PPC
  • Ability to show the ROI of executed marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, tasks, and priorities simultaneously for multiple brands.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong creative, written, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to work well both individually and as part of a team.
