Acquisition Marketing Project Manager

smartdept.inc. is searching for an Acquisition Marketing Project Manager for a credit card and banking institution client located in Riverwoods, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 2+ years of experience. This is a full-time, hybrid, 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to FTE. The pay for this position is expected to be $56-$63/hour depending on experience level.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage/cover staff who are responsible for the strategic development of marketing plans, initiatives, and communications targeted at individual prospect/cardholder segments
- Involved in: creative development for marketing channels (e.g., direct mail, email, statements), defining individual/segment market requirements and opportunities; determining list management/data mining strategies, and developing and providing ongoing support to marketing campaigns (e.g., campaign grid creation, targeting, offer management)
- Assume some important business development or product management responsibilities
- Typically leading on relationships with clients, however, may also work with team leaders to manage relationships with the most complex clients
- Generally working with a large degree of independence
- Leadership Responsibilities: May lead functional teams or projects
- Work on highly complex areas of specialty; becoming highly skilled with extensive proficiency in the area of specialty
- Assignments are quite varied and highly complex with few standard procedures
- Decision Making: Latitude for independent judgment and decision-making within defined guidelines
- Gathers information, consults those who need to be involved, and puts decisions into action. Considers the implications of options when making a difficult decision
- Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations. Participates in determining the objectives of the assignment
- Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meetings
What You’ll Need:
- 2+ years of experience in Marketing Campaign Management, Campaign Strategy, Creative Management, or related field
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of Marketing Campaign Management, or a related field
- Experience managing creative development and agency partners, developing marketing campaigns, analyzing campaign performance and recommending optimizations, and improving complex processes
- Experience managing campaigns relating to direct mail or email (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
