smartdept. is searching for a Technical Writer for a global health and wellness client located in Buena Park, CA. The ideal candidate will come with 2+ years of experience. This is a full-timehybrid (2x/week onsite), 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension. Compensation for this position is expected to be $25/hr -$30/hr depending on experience level and fit. 

 

This role works cross functionally to ensure critical product data is accurately identified, captured, and integrated for use across the enterprise. The role is a critical enabler of digital transformation, particularly in the design, development, manufacturing and sourcing of new products that fuel the success of core brand and contract customers around the world.

 

What You’ll Do:

  •  Provide clear input to project teams on schedule, issues, and deliverables related to product data and product specification management
  • Initiate and control the implementation of changes to product data
  • Monitor ongoing work queue to ensure timely delivery of business sustaining product data changes
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for organizational business process and technical solutions
  • Identify and mitigate risk to maintain a consistent supply chain, regulatory compliance, and data quality
  • Act as a stakeholder advocate, trainer, and mentor for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) best practices, methods, and processes
  • Assist PLM end-users with technical problem solving, product data reporting, and portfolio management
  • Interface with all key internal and external customers to accurately process changes and structure new product data records

 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Minimum BS degree with one year of related industry experience
  • Experience coordinating or participating in knowledge management or data capture and reporting systems and processes
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with interest to apply these skills to product data and related business processes
  • Demonstrated strong communication and English language skills that will enable you to work successfully in a global, cross-functional business environment
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with Siemens PLM software suite or similar PLM applications highly desired
  • Experience with New Product Development (NPD) processes and systems, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry
