Contract - Remote / Part time

smartdept. is searching for a Copywriter for a global health and wellness client located in Ada, Michigan. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience. This is a part-time (20 hours per week), hybrid, 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension. Compensation for this position is expected to be $30-$35/hour depending on experience level and fit. 

What You’ll Do: 

  •      Write and edit copy for a variety of marketing and sales materials, including product guides, product detail pages, education / training materials, and presentations
  •     Collaborate with the project leads and creative project managers to develop clear, concise, and engaging content that aligns with brand messaging and goals.
  •     Ensure copy accurately reflects product features, benefits, and brand tone.
  •     Proofread and edit marketing and sales materials for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
  •     Ensure all content follows Content style guidelines, based on AP format, and maintains consistency across all platforms.
  •     Work closely with the marketing and design teams to ensure copy and visual elements align effectively.
  •     Respond to feedback from stakeholders and revise content as needed to meet objectives
  •     Conduct research as needed to understand product features and benefits, ensuring all content is accurate and up-to-date.
  •     Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality content development.
  •     Balance work across digital and print projects, adjusting priorities as needed to meet the marketing and sales team's needs.
  •     Independently resolve problems, perform tasks and deliver assets on-time.

What You’ll Need: 

  • 5-7 years of experience writing for B2B or B2C brands across channels and media.
  • Proven experience in copywriting, preferably in a marketing or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of writing samples across digital platforms.
  • Strong understanding of AP Style.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive copy that resonates with a variety of audiences.
  • Familiarity with writing for digital platforms, including websites, product pages, and presentations.
  • Experience writing for various media, e-commerce, social media, creative concepts, video scripts and stage presentations.
  • Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus, but not required.
