Marketing Manager
smartdept. is searching for a Marketing Manager for a construction industry (AEC) client located in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will come with 5–10+ years of experience. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity.
This role supports the marketing and sales efforts of a construction organization. The Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing plans and strategies that build brand awareness, support business development, and strengthen positioning across construction-related markets and industry segments.
What You’ll Do:

Build purposeful brand awareness by creating and executing strategies for industry associations, external communications/PR, and advertising.

Support key construction-related focus areas including industrial, manufacturing, aviation, rail, and automotive.

Attend client and industry events to increase market awareness and influence positioning strategy.

Develop and execute marketing campaigns around specific messages and target audiences.

Customize pre-pitch (capabilities) and pitch (proposal) materials to support prospecting.

Create marketing and client experience plans for each job and proactively track and execute them.

Develop market insights for key regions and transportation-related niches using internal and external data.

Capitalize on marketing opportunities on the jobsite, coordinating asset capture to support future sales and project experience showcases.

Partner with business development to implement post-job client engagement plans.
What You’ll Need:
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent degree required.

5–10 years of experience in a marketing or business management role.

Strong organizational skills and ability to work with and without formal processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership and clients.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:

B2B marketing experience within construction, transportation, manufacturing, or logistics-related industries.

Experience networking professionally with clients and industry prospects.
