The Des Moines Arts Commission is hosting its inaugural Poverty Bay Arts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 25^th in and around the downtown Des Moines Marina District. The festival will feature art displays in local businesses, dedication of a new downtown mural by Chandelle Anderson on S. 219^th Street between Marine View Drive and 7^th Ave, several performances and a poetry slam with prizes. The entry deadline for artists and businesses to register to participate is fast approaching on July 23^rd. Please visit the event website at www.povertybayartsfestival.com.
