EMPLOYMENT AND OFFICE PROCEDURES: WORKING THROUGH SMARTDEPT INC.
Once you have accepted an assignment, we expect you to be dependable, punctual, and see each assignment through to its completion. If you are unable to complete an assignment, proper notice is required.
For freelance and contract assignments, smartdept. inc. is considered your employer. Please do not provide your contact information directly to the client. Call or email us first if you find yourself in any of the following circumstances:
1. If you are late, sick, or cannot report to your assignment for any reason. In this case, notify us immediately so we can arrange for alternative coverage.
2. If a client wishes to hire you on a permanent basis, or if a client contacts you directly for any work.
3. If there are any concerns about the assignment, such as a change in the job description or unforeseen difficulties in completing the work.
4. If you need to interview elsewhere during your lunch break or at other times during your assignment.
When you complete an assignment, notify us so we can determine if another assignment is available.
You are required to keep in the strictest confidence all information that is made available to you concerning any client, any client’s business, or any work to be performed for any client. Such information may be used only for purposes of performing the work assignment and may not be used for any other purposes or be disclosed to any person or entity other than duly authorized representatives of smartdept. inc. and our clients.
TIMECARD AND PAYROLL PROCEDURES
Our pay week is from Monday to Sunday. You will be paid every other Friday. Timecards for the previous week are due every Monday before 12 pm your local time.
Please use the Google Form timecard link on the left, unless your client has specified an alternate means of timekeeping. Take care to fill in the “Supervisor’s Email Address” question accurately. Round to the nearest .25 hour and do not include lunch or other breaks in your total time.
We offer direct deposit. If you would like to receive payment through direct deposit, please complete the provided form and send it to your Creative Consultant with a voided check. Please make sure the address on your tax paperwork is where you’d like your check to be sent if you do not elect direct deposit.
Our payroll provider is Paychex. You will be able to view all your payment information online at paychexflex.com. On this website, you can access paystubs and W-2s, view your tax deductions, and set up direct deposit. To sign up, refer to the instructions on the left and contact email@example.com if you have any questions.
Please remember that your pay rate is personal and confidential. It should not be discussed with the client or other personnel.
